Conor meets our Prime Minister

Last Friday I saw the Prime Minister, John Key. He was at the Ellersie Flower Show in Christchurch. He walked past my brother and I. We just stood there. The Prime Minister said, "Why are you not at school?" I said that I was on a long weekend.

He asked me what school I went to. I said Appleby School. He seemed like a nice man.

I like how you got to go and meet the Prime Minister of New Zealand and have your photo taken with him. You were very lucky.

I am glad that you found the Prime Minister to be friendly, what a thrill to have your picture take with you, and what a nice teacher Mrs King is letting you have a long weekend to go to the Ellerslie Flower Show.
