Welcome back to Term Four

Welcome back to the last term of 2006 at Appleby School. I trust that you have had a good break and a chance to enjoy the warmer weather.

I really enjoyed and got a lot out of the Ulearn ICT conference in Christchurch in the first week of the holidays. I learnt a whole lot of exciting things for us to work on in the future. I hope you have a chance to explore some of the new features on our blog like the clock, calendar, post-it notes and games links.

The highlights for the term already planned will be the class camp at Bridge Valley near Brightwater on Thursday/Friday 14/15 December. Further notes about our camp will come out shortly so put those dates aside for a couple of fun filled days.

Our focus for our thematic studies for the first part of the term will be on the topic ‘What makes Nelson unique’. We will be finding out about the activities, places, icons and people that make Nelson such a special place to live. If you know of a resource that would be appropriate we would enjoy sharing it.

No doubt you will also be reminded elsewhere that children need to bring a wide brimmed hat for outside play in this spring term. Please also ensure that drink bottles are regularly, thoroughly cleaned and named.

Please call at any time and join in some of the exciting activities we have planned for the term ahead.

Miss K
